Shaun White and Chloe Kim Win Burton U.S. Open Halfpipe 2017

All eyes were on the 22-foot pipe for the final day of the Burton U.S. Open. Under a blue bird sky, ten men and five women competed for the USO Halfpipe title and a $45,000 prize. Heavy hitter Shaun White stomped a Cab double cork 1440 followed by a double McTwist 1260, which put him 10 points ahead of the other competitors. He landed in first-place with a 92.74 (as if there were any other option) and earned his seventh USO Championship Halfpipe title. Mark McMorris and Anna Gasser Win Burton U.S. Open Slopestyle 2017

Vail, Colorado hosted the 35th annual Burton U.S. Open Championships this past weekend. All of snowboarding’s top names were in attendance including Canadians Spencer O’Brien, Brooke Voigt, Mark McMorris, Max Parrot, Seb Toutant, Mikey Ciccarelli and Tyler Nicholson. The men’s and women’s slopestyle finals were one of the highlights of the five day event. McMorris claimed his third USO slopestyle title with a flawless run that earned him a 86.95. Mikey Ciccarelli came in second with a 82.65 and Sven Thorgren followed with a 81.85. On the ladies side of things Austrian rider, Anna Gasser, came first with a 83.85. Jamie Anderson just missed winning her sixth Burton U.S. Open title, coming in second with a 81.55. Third Stop of the 2017 Swatch Freeride Tour at Fieberbrunn Confirmed for March 8th

It’s all on the line at Fieberbrunn for the third stop of the 2017 Swatch Freeride World Tour. March 8th is the last chance for  the 51 athletes to qualify for the final stops in Haines, Alaska and Verbier, Switzerland.
