Snowboarding is breaking into the ski scene, and it’s a good thing.  To many kids are getting sucked in by the ski industry’s bright colours and flashy films, and without some good ol’ snowboard influence they run the risk of a lifetime of skier-slides.  So we’re coming to them where they live, and we’re bringing our best.  Zach Aller, a Brothers Factory vetted ripper and Snowboard Canada contributor, has signed on with iF3 as Snowboard Division Director.  He’ll be bringing the good word to the film festival’s globe-spanning tour, brainwashing the youth on behalf of boardin’.  Kudos to Zach, and to all of you shredders out there spreading snowboarding.

From iF3:

iF3 is returning to Montreal on the last weekend of October. Expanding to new horizons, the iF3 Festival is excited to be actively including snowboard movies for the first time in its history at the annual gala and in its official programming. The iF3 Movie Awards will therefore feature skiing and snowboarding side by side at its big ceremony in Montreal in the fall of 2017. Professional athletes of both realms and international production companies will gather to celebrate the best images of the year.

The festival will take place at the iconic Hangar 16 in Montreal’s scenic Old Port and include a lively brand village with exhibitor booths, music and activities for all. Two separate cinema rooms will each showcase a full festival movie selection of both sports in order not to compromise on the complete and diverse programming iF3 brings each year.

This new festival edition is brought to you by Montreal locals:

Left to right: Félix Rioux (Co-founder and Movie Awards Director), Luc Skypowder (Co-director), David Zorko (Co-director), Zach Aller (Snowboard Division Director)

The festival tour will span the globe once again, reaching London, Amsterdam, Stockholm + Sweden tour, Milan, Washington DC, Quebec and Chile. Other stops to be announced.

Stay tuned for more news and see you in October!
