Soulines Backcountry Goes Down This Weekend

Soulines 2019 goes down this weekend. Right now, riders are sledding into the Soulines base camp en masse, travelling from far and wide to celebrate good ol’ fashion Kootenay huckin’. Shreds in attendance will represent for Nelson, Fernie, Golden, Revelstoke, Montana, and beyond. Riders will stay in the backcountry for the entirety of this weekend, shredding, competing, and connecting snowboard communities. There’s a big line comp tomorrow, and the start list is heavy. The contest is central to Soulines, a key component of the gathering, but it won’t overshadow the more general vibe. Soulines is about spending time in the mountains with your people.

Hit Soulines for more information, and keep an eye on SBC for results and media from the event. If you want to attend next year, you’ll find everything you need to start planning here. Soulines is accessible to riders with strong knowledge of travel in avalanche terrain, experience with winter camping, and access to a snowmobile. Don’t forget about local sled rental companies when planning your trip.
