Mike Rutter – Snowboard Canada Magazines new Digital Editor
Ontario Born, BC Based.
Home mountains: Mt. Seymour / Grouse
Mike first moved to Vancouver to work at Option snowboards and ride Seymour and still hasn’t left. As an avid snowboarder for 20+ years, Mike has a passion that runs deep. He can be found on hill even when the conditions seem to be marginal at best.
The camera was picked up around 12 years ago to shoot the homies, and this snowballed into getting published in numerous magazines. Mike has worked with brands like The North Face, Monster, Capita, Union, Salmon Arms just to name a few. With influences like Tim Zimmerman, Atiba, and Blotto this should come as no surprise.
Mike says ” I’m Stoked to join the Snowboard Canada team. I’ve been reading the mag since I was a grom ripping out pages and plastering them on my wall and it was a big influence in me picking up a camera in the first place. I’ve always admired what the team here does and puts out and I am looking forward to taking on the position of digital editor to shine some light on some of the up and coming Boarders, Photogs, and Filmers across Canada, and all the OG Canadian Legends as well”.
The whole SBC team is stoked to welcome Mike into his role as Digital Editor. We look forward to having him put his mark on the industry with our support.
