Whilst the lower parts of Whistler Blackcomb are gearing up for the bike park, 2 x Olympian and Canadian Sports Hall of fame member John Smart and his team are creating magic in the Glaciers
Nestled above Blackcomb’s Glacier Express is a playground for the next generation of snowboarders. Whilst Momentum Camps have been going since 1992 and originally Skiing only, Snowboarding was introduced to the extensive line up in 2019 with coaches such as Mikey Ciccarelli, Darcy Sharpe, Chris Rasman and Jody Wachniak.
This year was no exception with coaches consisting of Darrah Reid-Mclean, Mikey Ciccarelli, Gill Andrewshenko Sean Miskiman, Sam Weston, Chris Rasman, Jody Wachniack and Derek Molinksi. Both Darrah and Derek starting out in Winnipeg’s ‘The Ditch’ and making it out to the west coast and creating incredible careers with years of knowledge for the next generation of snowboarders to learn from.

Momentum camps has it all from big booter’s and air bags to a creative rail garden designed for all levels and abilities to progress in. With the Show Case T-bar making hot lapping easier, it gives the riders more time learning with these incredible coaches.
