Yeti Natural Selection 2026 Recap

Each year Natural Selection Tour seems to one up itself. This year was no different as the best in the biz battled it out in Revelstoke’s Montana Bowl. The twelve finalists did not disappoint, but in the end Zoi Sadowski-Synnott and Nils Mindnich came out victorious.

“This is some of the best snow I have ridden all year” Zoe said after day 1 of the event. The cold temps and a full reset of 40cm’s of snow helped get the tracks filled in for the final day of the contest. Mother nature was not always kind to the riders though, there were moments of wind or flat light, and there was even a small weather hold during the finals to keep the athletes and event organizers on their toes. In the end, the weather cleared to the delight of the record-breaking 1000+ strong group of spectators down at the base of the Montana Bowl.

Nils Mindnich’s switch riding and clean runs ultimately placed him in the top spot at the end of the day. Nils, who is a new dad and has a full-time desk job as an engineer, is no stranger to the NST podium. He was second only two years ago, so itching to get the win. Brin Alexander did give him a run for his money though as he cruised through the elimination rounds while jumping off the biggest cliffs he could find and opening new terrain.

On the women’s side, Zoe landed a massive 720 as well as being the only female to hit the bird’s nest pillow features. This along with good fast flow led Zoe to her second NST win. Whistlers Billy Pelchat, at only 18 years old, showed composure beyond her years at her first NST. Billy ended up third after getting into the contest as a wildcard through Robin Van Gyn’s RND event in Whitewater the week prior..

Huge shout out to Revelstoke Resort for hosting and the whole team behind the scenes for making this even what it is. Honorable mention goes out to the whole town of Revelstoke as it seemed most of you made the trek out to the base of the Montana Bowl to show your support for all the riders. How will NST one up this year’s event? I guess we will have to wait and see.
