The North Face presents: HALATIAN
Awarded IF3’s ‘Best Short Film’ Halation features Mitchy Davern, a former competitive snowboarder, and Ben Poechman, an artist who sees snowboarding as an extension of his creativity. In this exploration of snow and self, the film captures their shared pursuit where snowboarding transcends sport. The film was directed by Finlay Woods, a film director originally from New Zealand known for blending adventure with art.
The Capture of Ben’s way of viewing his riding with his art mixed with Mitchy’s huge sends and style held us captive with Finlay’s creative transitions and innovative way of filming on and off snow. A crew that all understood each other and the assignment, bringing to us a short film worthy of the big screen.
