Swatch Nines has been a staple in the freestyle snowboarding and skiing world for over 15 years, with epic oversized features and a different take on what an event can look like. The 16th Swatch Nines wrapped up last week at the Swiss resort of Schilthorn, and as usual there were mega sized features that made me reminisce about Superpark events from back in the day. The week did throw a curve ball with a bad weather day, but that just made everyone more eager to go big on the days that allowed. Multiple world records got broken on the “Perfect Hip”, most notably by Brook D’Hondt and Valentino Guseli, each getting a new highest air. I could babble on all day about how awesome the whole week was, but pictures and video will tell the story for me.
“Swatch Nines got me high on endorphins for a week straight! I felt so blessed being in such a beautiful place with my friends, riding the most ill setup ever. Winning two awards at the end of the week was another explosion of positive emotions. It was just the perfect conclusion to a dream week.” – Patrick Hofmann (SNB, SUI)
“It was such a sick week with an epic crew! I’m super happy to be able to put down a couple tricks on an amazing build. Feeling grateful for the whole experience.” – Brooke D’Hondt (SNB, CAN)
