Federico Romanello: The Kashmiri Experience
The three weeks spent snowboarding in Kashmir in February 2019 have been unforgettable to say the least. The floating market on Dal Lake in Srinagar, the chaos around the streets, the majesty of the Himalayas, the monkeys in the woods, the local cousine, the warmth of the people nonetheless the harsh socio-political situation, all ingredients that made this trip as one of the best ever. And then there’s Gulmar. A tiny village at the footsteps of Mount Apharwat, height 4200mt, famous for two reasons: the highest gondola in the world, and the amount of annual snowfall. And obviously no piste to go back to the base, just backcountry. A true paradise for every freerider!
