Beaver Valley Banked Slalom Recap

Now seven year’s young, the Beaver Valley Banked Slalom has become the annual spring gathering of Ontario’s snowboard community.

Capped at 250 entrants, the banked race is always a sold-out affair featuring a cool mix of legendary shreds, alongside some of the biggest names in park and street; industry leaders; current and ex-national team pipe, park and boardercross riders; coaches; local shop and park staff; and multiple generations of snowboard enthusiasts. It’s the one event where there are as many riders over age thirty as there are under.

Add to that one of Ontario’s best park set-ups, a mini-pipe, a massive hip in front of the party deck, music, bbq and beers and it’s a day that celebrates snowboard culture like few others.

It’s also a charity fundraiser for the building fund of the new hospital in nearby Markdale in memory of Beaver Valley snowboarder Jackie Snarr. This year the Beaver Valley Banked Slalom raised $18,500.
