Vans Snow is proud to welcome professional snowboarder Jill Perkins to the global family.
Calling Salt Lake City, Utah home for the past six years, Jill credits her steady rise in snowboarding’s ranks to an obsessive drive to push herself further on a board. Since settling in the mountains, her career has grown quickly in a relatively short period of time. Today, Jill’s skillset and tenacity is widely recognized among her peers and the snowboarding community at large.
After being named Snowboarder Magazine’s 2017 Rookie of the Year, Jill received much-deserved recognition for her riding in Snowboarder’s 2019 film Everybody, Everybody, earning Snowboarder Magazine’s Women’s Most Valuable Video Player and Women’s Fan Favorite. She followed that up with a part in Snowboarder’s 2020 film, Tangle, for which she was crowned Slush Magazine’s 2021 Women’s Rider of the Year.
Recently, Jill has emerged as an advocate and thought leader in LGBTQ+ inclusion and positivity. In an interview with Torment Magazine for Pride Month, Jill highlighted her decision to own her Queer identity and push for a new chapter of acceptance in the snowboard community, which has been met with open arms by her peers. With a constant eye toward progression, Jill’s career is poised for even more growth in the future.
“Vans has engrained themselves in snowboarding’s history— they support the culture and effortlessly stand true to themselves,” Jill said. “Thank you to the entire Vans family for opening up your arms and allowing some of my wildest dreams to come true. I am so excited to grow with Vans and feel incredibly honored to be a part of such a special family.”
Vans couldn’t be more excited to welcome Jill to the family. Congratulations Jill!
