Fieberbrunn, Austria – March 12, 2023: Stop four of FWT23 has been confirmed for Monday, March 13, the first of two FWT Finals events to decide who will be crowned world champions. Fieberbrunn, Austria, will again play host, with a best-of-two-run format giving athletes double the chance to impress the judges, where their best run will count towards their score and overall rankings.
Competition will kick off at 8:30 am CET, with the live stream action starting at 8:20 am CET exclusively at www.freerideworldtour.com. The order of play is as follows:
- Snowboard Men
- Snowboard Women
- Ski Women
- Ski Men
The snow finally arrived in the last couple of days, with around 20 cm of fresh powder blanketing the venue. Safety teams and FWT organizers have worked hard to secure the mountain, and competition is now ready to fire in spectacular conditions.
The ever-intimidating Wildseeloder will host the world’s best athletes, where they will have the option of two start gates – dropping at either 2,119 meters or 2,090 meters – with over 580 vertical meters to ride at an average pitch of 48 degrees. This will provide the perfect playground for the first showdown of the FWT Finals, as the title race heats up between current rankings leaders – Valentin Rainer (AUT), Addison Rafford (USA), Ludovic Guillot-Diat (FRA) and Katie Anderson (CAN) – and a long list of talented riders not far behind. To be crowned FWT23 world champion, three out of five results will count, so the pressure is on leading into the event.
The FWT Finals is moments away! Watch the event LIVE exclusively at www.freerideworldtour.com– with in-depth coverage and instant replays – and stay tuned to the FWT social channels for all the latest news, including rider updates.
