Humans of the internet! Sims Snowboards has shaken things up and we’ve invited Joey Norsworthy of Our Habit Sales to share the details with you.

After several years of solid growth and brand building as Sims Japan, the company is now expanding into the global market. Inspired by the original spirit of Tom Sims’ vision and fuelled by the creative input of a uniquely talented team. This year marks a new era for the legacy brand.

With new boards and a new global pro team, Sims brings a like-minded group of talented, diverse, and driven individuals consisting of John Jackson, Keegan Valaika, Tadashi Fuse, Scott Blum, Shuhei Sato, Nik Baden, Cody Warble, and Canadian Martyn Vachon – Sims only International AM this season.

PAST & PRESENT OF SIMS SNOWBOARDING

Since its inception, Sims has relied on the riders to guide and evolve every product. It is an inclusive, DIY approach that set the standard, empowering progression in everything from construction and production innovations to tech and product breakthroughs that shifted the paradigm: the first metal edge board, the first pro model; the first double-strap binding, the first folding high back, the first women’s board, and so on – for decades.

Today, Sims exists to celebrate the past, foster progression in the present, and push snowboarding forward into the future. Committed to the culture and those who live to ride, paying homage to founder Tom Sims, and his inspired vision of life on boards. Not skiing but surfing and skateboarding. These were Tom’s roots and informed his entire approach to snowboarding. Sims has always been about freestyle and fun. Not scoring points. Growing outward from this utopian vision of self-expression though radical action, the culture flourished.

Winter 20/21 boards will be hitting Canadian retailers soon. Via: Our Habit, Canadian Sales & Distribution. Stay tuned for demo dates.
